2024 Talladega Mardi Gras Parade

2024 Talladega Mardi Gras Parade Entry

On behalf of the Talladega Mardi Gras Parade Committee, THANK YOU for your interest in participating in the 2024 Talladega Mardi Gras Parade! Below you’ll find helpful information concerning the schedule, location, parade route, and how to purchase your moon pies and beads from Talladega’s Historic Ritz Theatre.

WHEN: Saturday, February 3, 2024. Line-up begins at 9:30AM, and all participants must be in line and ready to roll by 10:30AM. Parade rolls out at 11:00AM.

WHERE: Line-up is in front of Zora Ellis Junior High, 414 Elm Street, Talladega, AL 35160.

PARADE ROUTE: This year’s route is the same as the past. Starting at Zora Ellis Junior High, the parade heads east down South Street, turns left onto Asbury Street, then turns left onto East Battle Street. The procession will continue west on East Battle Street toward the Historic Courthouse Square, where it will circle the Square. For spectators, the parade ends after circling the Square; however, the streets will be blocked for participants’ travel back to Zora Ellis Junior High by way of Court Street, South Street, and finally back to Zora Ellis.

WHO: Anyone who wishes to participate! All we ask is that participants be clever and festive with a show of Mardi Gras spirit. Colorful decorations in the preferred traditional Mardi Gras colors of purple, green, and gold are encouraged. Participants will involve bands, floats, antique cars, walking groups, along with dozens of Shriners Comedy Units from across Alabama and Georgia!

BEADS & MOON PIES AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE: You may bring your own items to throw in the parade, including hard candy and small toys, but the Mardi Gras Committee has ordered beads and moon pies in a variety of flavors available for purchase at cost for your convenience:

Beads: $60/case (60 dozen); $30/half case (30 dozen)
